It had been 14 months since Se Ri's previous victory in the final tournament of 1999. Here in the first tournament of 2001, she got off to a good start and was a couple of shots out of the lead coming into the final round. She proceeded to trample the field with a brilliant 64 to win by four shots. At one point she had 7 birdies in 11 holes, including two chip-ins. Pak was back!
