The Scoop:
Se Ri played decent but unspectacular golf the first two days, just good enough to keep her in the tournament. On Saturday, the weather got much trickier, and she vaulted into the top 6 with a 2 under par 69, one of only five under par scores that day. On Sunday, playing in the second to last group, she went out like a woman on a mission, birdieing three of her first five holes. By the turn she had moved to within one shot of Lorena Ochoa at 7 under, then hit a superlative iron to a couple feet for another birdie on 11 and the tie. She followed that with two more birdies on 14 and the par 5 15th (almost an eagle chip-in, in face), and she cruised to her 22nd win, despite a momentary hickup bogey on 16. With this win, Se Ri had amassed enough points to qualify for the LPGA Hall of Fame, which she can enter after she has played on tour ten years.
