Beat Karrie Webb on first playoff hole

She Won: $270,000
The Scoop:
Se Ri had been going through a punishing slump since winning the Michelob Ultra Open in May, 2004, and qualifying for the Hall of Fame. In 2005, she did not even finish in the top 100 on the money list. But after a season ending injury forced her to stop practicing or playing golf for three months, she finally took some time off and recharged. In December of 2005 she eagerly renewed her training again. After playing progressively better as 2006 continued, she arrived at the LPGA Championship, where she played brilliantly for four rounds, breaking par all four days. Coming into the 72nd hole with a one shot lead, she squandered it with a three putt, forcing a playoff with the equally resurgent Karrie Webb. But on the first playoff hole, after botching her drive and leaving it 201 yards from the hole, Se Ri hit arguably the best shot of her career, stopping the ball a mere couple of inches from the cup. The title was hers, and her longest winless streak ended in spectacular fashion.
