The Scoop:
Se Ri Pak arrived in Toledo fresh off a tie for 4th at the US Women's Open. In the opening round she shot a blistering 8 under par 63, her best score since the final round of the 2002 Betsy King Classic. She followed that with a 68 to take a five shot lead. However, in the third round, young American Morgan Pressel shot a 64 to move to within two shots of Pak. In the final round, Pressel moved three shots ahead of Se Ri after a hole in one on the 6th hole, but Pak fought back, making three birdies in the next four holes to catch her. After remaining tied at 14 under for the next few holes, Pak hit it to a foot on 15 for a birdie, matched birdies with Pressel on 17, and hit another iron to a foot for a tap in birdie on 18. It was her fifth Farr victory, tying the all time record for most wins at a single event with Mickey Wright and Annika Sorenstam.
