The Scoop:
Se Ri played a brilliant first round, shooting a 65 on a difficult course that no one else was able to shoot better than 69 on. On Saturday, the weather got really harsh: high winds and very cold temperatures raised the scoring average to over 79. Se Ri shot a 76, which reduced her lead to three shots over Grace Park. In the third round, Se Ri ground out a bogey and a birdie on the front nine, while most everyone else was losing ground. On 11, she bogeyed, but followed that up with a brilliant 50 yard chip shot on the par 5 12th to within a foot of the hole for an easy birdie. She had one more bogey and one more birdie, and finished with an even par round, the second time in three days she had the best round of the day. Thus she won her second consecutive LPGA event, and her first event in Korea since before joining the LPGA.
