Seo-Jae Lee started playing golf at age 11.
She won several important amateur events in Korea before coming
to the US to try her luck on the LPGA. She gained a non-exempt
card on tour by finishing tied for 53rd at the 2006 LPGA Qualifying
School. She turned pro immediately thereafter.
In 2007, Seo Jae played a couple of LPGA events,
but primarily focused on the Futures Tour. This was a wise
decision: she won back to back tournaments at one point in
the season, and wound up fifth on the Futures Tour money list,
which earned her an exempt card for the 2008 LPGA year.
In 2008, Lee's first exempt season on tour
was unspectacular. She did earn her first top 20 finish at
Corning, but otherwise struggled to make cuts and lost all
playing privileges for 2009. That year, she played on the
Futures Tour, where she finished 14th on the money list, just
out of the top ten, which would have gotten her status on
the LPGA again. Her best finish on the Futures Tour in 2009
was 2nd.
Lee did not play on the Futures Tour or KLPGA
in 2010, and her current status is unknown.
