Hyun Soon Park started playing golf at the age of
16, and turned pro in 1991. One of the older Korean players on the
LPGA, she is also one of the few married ones, marrying in 1998.
Park played from 1991 - 2002 on the KLPGA, where she racked up an
impressive record, winning six times. She also had a second place
finish at the Australian Ladies Masters, at the time an LPGA event.
In 2002, she decided to try her luck on the LPGA. She finished tied
for 65th place at Q-School to earn non-exempt status.
Hyun Soon did not play any events on the 2003 LPGA
tour, and again earned non-exempt status at 2003 Q-School, finishing
tied for 32nd. She decided to play and live in Korea with her husband,
however. By the end of 2004 she was six months pregnant with her
first child (but was still competing!). Presumably she will take
a good part of 2005 off to care for him or her when he/she arrives.
The most recent event Park played on the KLPGA tour
was in 2009; it appears she may have retired from the game.
Fun fact: her cousin is pro baseball pitcher
Chan Ho Park.
