Capsule Bio

Lauren Kim played golf at Stanford, from which she graduated in 2016. She gained limited status on the LPGA at the end of 2016 for the 2017 season. In that year, she played two LPGA events, missing the cut in both.

She mainly focused on the Symetra Tour that year, where she made $21,000 and finished 38th on the money list. She regained her LPGA status by finishing 45th at Q-School in November.

In 2018, she started the season with low status. Her best finish was a tie for 17th at the ShopRite Classic. In all, she finished 120th on the money list with nearly $65,000 earned. She earned category 14 status at Q Series for 2019.

In 2019 she played slightly better, earning more than $90,000 for the year, 114th on the money list. She finished 8th at Q-Series that Fall and earned category 14 status for 2020.

In 2020, the whole world was rocked by the Covid-19 pandemic. The LPGA and KLPGA tours canceled and postponed many tournaments. Kim played three events on the LPGA before the pandemic halted play, but did not play the rest of the year. She missed all three cuts, but the LPGA has extended membership through 2021, so she did not lose her card.

Kim made a little less than $70,000 in 2021, which put her 121st on the money list. She went back to Q-Series, where she finished tied for 16th and again earned category 14 status for 2022.

In 2022, Lauren missed all but one cut, and the one she did make was a team event. As a result, she made only $8,000 official money. She has played a few times since then, but has not returned to the LPGA.
