Capsule Bio

Kyung Kim grew up on Maui, and moved to Arizona to further her golf game when she was young. She was the 2010 Arizona High School Player of the Year, and made the All State squad all four years. She won three AJGA events and had three seconds and five thirds. She was named to the 2011 Junior Solheim Team, and also qualified for the US Women's Open that year (she missed the cut).

Kim made her biggest national splash in 2012 when she won the US Women's Amateur Pub Links, one of the most important amateur events played in this country every year. She played the 2012 US Women's Open after that, missing the cut by a stroke.

In the Fall of 2012, she matriculated at USC, where she has quickly become one of the top players in the college game. She graduated in 2016 and turned pro.

In 2017, Kyung Kim played on the Cactus mini-tour. She quickly made a huge splash, winning five events by early May. This earned her some exemptions onto the Symetra Tour.

After two seasons on the Symetra Tour, Kim earned a tour card on the LPGA for 2020 by finishing tied for 41st at 2019 Q-Series.

In 2020, the whole world was rocked by the Covid-19 pandemic. The LPGA and KLPGA tours canceled and postponed many tournaments. Kyung Kim ended up playing just four LPGA events during the year, missing all four cuts. Thus she made no official money in 2020, but fortunately for her, the LPGA decided to allow all players to keep their cards until the end of 2021 because of the pandemic.

Kim did not have a good 2021 season, however. She did make three cuts, with her best finish a tie for 48th. She was not able to retain her tour card for 2022. It looks like she might have retired, as there are no known tournament appearances for her after 2021.
