Young Jo competed on the KLPGA for her first
few years as a professional. In 2003, she played on the Futures
Tour, where she finished 37th on the money list. In 2004,
she did better, but still only finished 11th.
Jo surprised everyone by playing very well
at 2004 Q-School. Indeed, for a couple of rounds, she was
even in the lead, before young American Paula Creamer turned
on the jets and passed her. Still, Jo finished 2nd, the best
finish for a Korean at 2004 Q-School, and looked promising
for the 2005 season.
Young had a pretty solid rookie year in 2005.
She notched three top tens, finished in the top 50 on the
money list, and easily kept her tour card for 2006. Her 2006
was about the same; she finished a little lower on the money
list, but had a slightly better scoring average. She had a
worse 2007, although she still was able to maintain her exempt
status for 2008, finishing 80th on the money list.
In 2008, she played in few events and made
little money, perhaps still due to undisclosed injuries. She
maintained playing privileges for the 2009 season, but missed
every cut. She did not maintain tour membership for 2010,
and seems to have retired.
