Capsule Bio

Jeongmin Moon first qualified for the KLPGA in 2022. She was not able to keep her card, however, making just 115 million won, 75th on the money list. So in 2023, she went back down to the Dream Tour. She won the money list there to again gain membership on the KLPGA in 2024.

Moon had a good start to her season, carding a few top tens and playing much better in general than she had in 2023. But in the summer, a tabloid television show featured a story about a young golfer who had had an affair with her married coach. Although the show was careful to not name the golfer, it soon became known that she was Moon. Moon lost all her sponsorships and went into hiding for a few months to escape the controversy.

Eventually she returned with no sponsors and played again regularly. It was tough going: she missed her first four cuts. But then, amazingly, she found herself in contention at Daebo HausD Open. Even more amazingly, she won, her first career KLPGA win. The win and several other top tens allowed her to finish 25th on the money list with 430 million won earned.

Moon acquired a new primary sponsor before the start of the 2025 season: Dukshin EPC. She also played at the Foxconn TLPGA Players Championship in Taiwan, finishing tied for 13th. With luck, she will be able to continue her upward climb in the rankings in 2025 and will be able to put the controversies of 2024 behind her.
