Esther Lee was born in Pueblo, Colorado and graduated
from High School in Alamitos, California. She went to college at
Duke for her Freshman year, then transferred to the University of
Colorado. She was a successful golfer at both schools. Esther graduated
in 2017 and joined the Symetra Tour the following year.
In 2019, she finished 9th on the Symetra Tour money
list, earning a category 9 status for the LPGA in 2020.
In 2020, the whole world was rocked by the Covid-19
pandemic. The LPGA and KLPGA tours canceled and postponed many tournaments.
Esther Lee played 12 LPGA events during the year, missing nine cuts.
Her best finish was a tie for 15th at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship.
She made just over $36,000 in 2020, but fortunately for her, the
LPGA decided because of the pandemic to allow all players to keep
their cards until the end of 2021.
Esther's 2021 season was about the same as 2020.
Her best finish was again a tie for 15th. She made more money but
finished lower on the money list: 129th. Her tour status for 2022
slipped to category 15.
Esther missed the entire 2022 season due to an unspecified
medical condition/injury, and played just one Epson tour event in
March (she missed the cut). Her status for 2023 became category
16. However, she did not play any events in 2023, and no longer
has status on the LPGA or has played on the Epson Tour either. It's
possible she has retired.
