Beat Meena Lee in a four hole playoff
She Won: $180,000
The Scoop:
The Corning Classic is a small town event that attracts huge galleries each year. In 2006, it looked like Jeong Jang was going to win her second career victory there. After three rounds, she had a three shot lead. But she made a big mistake early in her round, hitting her drive on the fifth hole into the trees, then hitting her second shot off a tree out of bounds. She made double bogey and dropped into a tie for the lead. Eventually, Meena Lee made a run, finishing at 15 under par. Lee needed the win to qualify for the US Women's Open, as she had forgotten to send her application in. But Hee-Won Han made birdies on the final two holes to tie Lee, then outlasted her in a four hole playoff for the win.
