Well, those who tuned in to the tournament on Sunday know what happened next. Juli Inkster was simply unstoppable for the first fifteen holes, and it looked like she might even shoot a 59 if the golf gods deemed it so. Since Juli had started the day two shots ahead of Kangsy, it was all but decided that Soo Yun was not going to collect her first LPGA victory this day. And even when Inkster started to have some late troubles, she was still so far ahead that they made little difference.

But Soo Yun had no reason to hang her head. Though she was not able to come close to matching Inkster's final round 62 (which, as it turns out, is the lowest score in LPGA history for a final round for the tournament winner), she still managed a very solid 68, highlighted by a wonderful approach to a couple of feet on 17.

So congratulations to Soo Yun Kang, the rookie who is not a rookie. May she soon join the august ranks of Korean LPGA winners!

Another good putt!
