It wasn't all work for Se Ri at the party. She got a chance to hang out a little with some friends, too. Here she has a relaxing moment with two friends from the KLPGA tour, Mi Na Lee and Il Mi Chung (Lee is on the right, Chung on the left). It looks like they are about to slug the photographer for intruding!

And still later, Se Ri returned to her seat to watch the rest of the spectacle.

Part 3: The Tournament

Friday, May 16, 2003:
With the festivities out of the way, Se Ri got down to the business of playing the tournament. In the first round she was paired with the two ladies she is standing with above, Il Mi Chung and Mi Na Lee. An auspicious pairing indeed! The top two players on the KLPGA tour and the top Seoul Sister on the international scene. And Se Ri did not disappoint, getting off to a fine start with a three under par 69. This was good enough for a tie for second, two shots out of the lead.

Saturday, May 17, 2003:
On Saturday, Se Ri took over the tournament in her own inimitable style. She shot a sizzling 65, 7 under par, and went from being two shots behind to four shots ahead going into the final round. Suddenly it looked very likely that she was going to be taking home the trophy.
