Se Ri is #2
The media is finally getting the message! Almost every article I read about the LPGA these days calls Se Ri Pak the #2 golfer in the women's game, instead of Karrie Webb or someone else. She was given a lengthy interview and the star treatment at the start of the Asahi Ryokuken tournament. And now the Korean women, coming off of two consecutive wins, are also getting noticed. Check out the article that recently appeared in the Washington Post about the success of the Asian women on the LPGA, with special emphasis, natch, on the Korean gals (quick registration required)!

Money List
To the right is the current LPGA money list as of May 21, 2003. Se Ri has returned to the number one spot thanks to her 14th place finish at the Asahi Ryokuken. Grace Park has held onto 3rd by a slim margin over Patricia Meunier-Lebouc. Rosie Jones' win means that Hee-Won has again fallen out of the top ten, despite being the top earner among the Koreans in this period.

More Se Ri Pak Golf Cards!
Obviously knowing a good thing when they see it, the folks at Upper Deck have continued to add to the selection of Se Ri Pak golf cards available. In addition to the regular card and the two Major Winner cards profiled last week, they have a selection of 'World Powers' cards. Some of these feature Se Ri with another LPGA star, such as Annika, Karrie or Laura Davies. Some are just Se Ri alone. All of them feature a tiny swatch of cloth which apparently has been cut from an actual shirt worn by Se Ri during a tournament (I want the one she wore during the final round of the Betsy King in 2002!). These are quite a bit rarer than the normal cards, so they are already selling for 10 - 20 bucks on E-bay. May your next pack of Upper Deck Golf Cards be blessed with a World Powers Se Ri Pak card!!
