Hee-Won Han, meanwhile, also had a less than great round, but in the end she played slightly better than Grace, carding a 2 over par 74. This left her in 23rd place. Aree Song also shot a 2 over par 74 to tie Hee-Won. Soo-Yun Kang, meanwhile, was one over par, and thus sat in 14th place. Beth Bauer turned out to be the strongest of the LPGA players on the first day, shooting an even par 72 that left her tied for 6th place. So obviously this course was playing tough, with only five players breaking par on day 1.

An interesting close-up, wouldn't you say?

Grace shot an impressive 69 on Friday

On Friday, under clear skies in Pusan, it was Beth Bauer who made her move. She shot a 3 under par 69 to move to 3 under for the tournament. The surprise leader after round 1, Ji Young Moon, struggled mightily to a 79 for the day, which knocked her back to 4 over par for the tournament and 13th place. As you can tell, under par scores were still hard to come by, if even +4 was in the top 20.

Grace, as is her habit, recovered nicely from her weak first round with a 69 of her own. This erased the black numbers from her scorecard and moved her to Even par for the tournament. It turned out that 69 was the low score of the day, so Grace co-held this record with Beth Bauer and one other player.

That one other player was a 17 year old amateur named Bo Pae Song, who followed up her even par 72 from Thursday with a 69 of her own on Friday. This left her at three under for the tournament. Three under ended up being the best score of the day, so both Bauer and Song were tied for the lead after Friday's action, with one round to go.

How did the other LPGA and American stars do? Hee-Won had a very good round herself, a 2 under par 70, that moved her to even par and a tie with Grace. They would play together again on the final day. Aree Song, meanwhile, struggled, making one birdie and four bogeys for a three over par 75. This left her in a tie for 17th at 5 over par for the event. Soo Yun Kang slightly improved over Thursday with an even par round; she remained at +1, which moved her to 7th place.

So the standings after day two looked something like this:
