Jenny Bae attended college at the University of
Georgia, where she became one of the best college golfers in the
country. Her biggest highlight as an amateur came near the end of
her college career. She played the Augusta National Women's Amateur
in 2023 and was in the hunt. However, entering the final round,
she was six shots behind Rose Zhang, and it looked doubtful she
could come back. But she made a few birdies and Zhang started to
struggle. Then on the 17th hole, Bae hit a magnificent shot close
for birdie. She was tied and there would be a playoff. Alas, on
the second playoff hole, Bae made several mistakes and Zhang won.
Bae turned pro and joined the Epson Tour. She had
a decent first year, finishing 13th on the money list despite playing
only 11 events. In her second year in 2024, she played 18 events,
made 16 cuts, and won an event. She finished 7th on the race for
the card points list and earned a card for the 2025 LPGA season.
