March 20, 2007: Hola from Mexico City!
Hola!
I just got back from the Mexico City, Mexico tournament... what a week!!!
The tournament is only a 3 day event, but we had such bad weather that
whoever made the cut had to finish up on Monday. So here is what my week
was like...
Friday 8:28 am I started off on the #10 tee & I finished my
round w/ a 72 score, but the afternoon tee time players weren't able to
finish up cuz of bad weather. So they had to come back the following day
(Saturday), resuming by 7:30 am to finish up round one & start playing
the 2nd round, with a little break between (about 20 minutes).
Saturday 5:07 pm I started off on tee #1 for my 2nd round tee time...
what happened between my two rounds? Same thing happened... play was suspended
cuz of BAD WEATHER... so my group played only 4 holes... the next morning
I had to come back for a par putt on the 4th green!
Sunday resumed by 7:30 am I had to get up at 4 am to get ready
& get on the 5 am shuttle, eat, warm up & be in position by 7:30!!!
Time out here for a minute: can u imagine what all the LPGA staff and
rules officials were like? Trying to figure out the weather conditions
cuz they didn't have the system they were using in the States... also
gotta finish 54 holes... making all the decisions... yeah... anywayz,
we finished round two before noon & I got a 2:18 pm tee time for round
three, but again, a couple minutes before it started... suspended... resumed
play later and played almost 5 holes... I gotta come back on Monday to
finish the rest of the round!
Monday, same thing, resumed playing by 7:30 am so I returned to
the #5 hole fairway...& YES WE ALL FINISHED the tournament!!! What
a week. Glad to be done & thankful that we could finish the tournament.
& CONGRATS 2 Meaghan Francella -- what a week!!! I remember when we
played the Women's Western Jr. Championship & she was one of the girls
that I had a match with...& now we both are on the LPGA tour.
YES~! I wanna thank my friends & family who are praying 4 safe trips
for me & I'm thankful I'm playing great golf with Dana, my caddy (not
a female!!!). Please, keep praying for me & Dana for safe trips &
for playing GREAT golf... after each round no matter how I finished I
am thankful for everything.
