KLPGA Update

The 2006 season will definitely go down in history as the year of Ji Yai Shin. The 18 year old wunderkind flat out dominated the proceedings. She won the most important event of the year, the Korean Women's Open, beating Cristie Kerr in the process. She broke a nearly decade old record for most money in a season, set the best scoring average in history, made the most birdies, and had a ridiculously great average for rounds under par.

Although no one had nearly the results Shin had, we should mention a few other players as well. Hee Young Park had an excellent year in her own right, securing two victories and second place on the money list. She was not far behind what Kyeong Bae, last year's leading money winner, had accumulated. Na Yeon Choi had a win and finished third on the money list. Bo Bae Song also had a win despite her many struggles with injuries. And Jin Joo Hong had two dominating victories on tour, one of which secured her an exempt card for the LPGA as the latest KLPGA Cinderella to accomplish that task. Congratulations to them all!
