Hero Worship

Se Ri Pak has been an inspiration for a generation of Korean girl golfers, their ultimate idol. In the last few years, the Se Ri generation has grown up and began to infiltrate the professional ranks. One of the most promising of those budding stars is KLPGA superstar Ji Yai Shin, who, though only an 18 year old rookie, has owned that league in 2006.

Shin got the ultimate thrill at this year's KOLON-Hana Bank Championship: she was paired with her idol in the first round. As you can tell from the photo, she thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. So imagine her excitement when they were paired together again on Sunday! They responded by shooting two of the best scores that day, and finishing third (Pak) and fourth (Shin). For all she has accomplished and will accomplish, the Sunday she was paired with her hero and both of them played so well will remain an unforgettable one for the young Shin!
