This has got to qualify as one of the oddest,
yet most captivating, photos of Se Ri Pak I have ever seen. At the Safeway
International, the LPGA took advantage of the fact that most of the top
lady golfers in the world were there to take a bunch of very offbeat photos
of the ladies. Se Ri got the treatment as well, which is lucky, considering
it's one of only three events she has been at to date this year. This photo
is not only unusual and vaguely psychedelic, it also brings out a melancholy
aspect of the usually ebullient Korean that we have not often seen before.
It's quickly risen to be one of my favorite photos of her; I almost used
it on this week's cover, even though Se Ri has been absent from golf during
the period of time this issue covers! Don't worry about Se Ri, though; as
the other photo from this session shows (see this week's Fairways and Greens),
she still has a lot of that sense of humor of hers left! |
